The Reference & Faculty Services Librarian provides reference, research, and instructional services across the law school community with a focus on faculty support. This position reports to the Associate Director for Public Services.
Job Responsibilites:
Faculty Services
The librarian performs the following faculty services: coordinates the faculty liaison program, serves as a faculty liaison, and provides expertise in supporting and promoting scholarship. (25%)
Reference and Research
The librarian serves as a member of the general reference team which includes: staffing the Reference Desk and creating library publications including library news, research guides, bibliographies and video tutorials. (25%)
Collection Development and Maintenance
The librarian evaluates electronic and print resources and participates in other collection maintenance responsibilities. (15%)
Teaching and Training
The librarian teaches 3-4 credit hours of legal research courses and develops and delivers informal and formal legal research training. (20%)
Professional Service
Actively participates in local, state, and national law library, library and legal organizations and associations. Write and/or present for law and library related publications and associations. (10%)
General
Performs other duties as assigned. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school plus M.L.S or equivalent
(M.L.S. or equivalent degree must be in progress if not completed before date of hire.)
Preferred Qualifications:
1-3 years of library experience
Fluency with new and emerging digital data and scholarly communications technology
Knowledge of copyright issues and open-access publishing
