Job Summary: This position is located at Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA).As an Outdoor Recreation Assistant, you'll help guests enjoy camping, boating, hiking, and more. Duties include checking out kayaks and paddleboards, setting up areas, assisting with rentals, maintaining trails and campsites, and supporting events to ensure a safe, welcoming experience. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid

Major Duties:

  • Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
  • Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist, instructing groups in a variety of outdoor recreation programs.
  • Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests.
  • Will become familiar with programs offered by Outdoor Recreation as well as the local area to provide information to the customer. Reporting any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Specialist.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits.
