This position is open for recruitment and fully funded following the 2025 Special Legislative Session.
 

The role:
Join our team of dedicated professionals in our Commerce and Compliance Division as a rate analyst. In this critical role, you will work within the household goods moving program to help provide a safe moving experience for the consumer and help protect the commercial moving company. You will examine data and make recommendations regarding rates, conduct audits and ensure compliance with state statutes and administrative rules. A day in the life:

  • Conduct technical audits of household good movers.

  • Write technical audit reports, provide technical advice and present audit findings to movers.

  • Investigate and resolve complaints using various enforcement actions.

  • Answer questions regarding proper application of rates, rules and regulations.

  • Perform in-depth reviews on requests for changes to new and existing tariffs and make recommendations.

  • Manage the process of collecting the household goods annual report from each mover and address questions with movers about their annual report or fee..

  • Collaborate with the commercial motor carrier industry to keep all parties informed of regulations and help implement changes when required.

  • Travel throughout the state to conduct audits and participate in enforcement events.

  • Hybrid work options available approximately 80% of the time.

Minimum qualifications:
Four years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level.

Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years.

 

Special qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid US driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.
