Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will get to managing the budget of the Roads and Infrastructure projects. Senior QS is part of the Construction Supervision team with respect to all financial aspects and contractual matters in the infrastructure project.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Will be responsible for all matters relating to the financial and contractual aspects of the project.

  • Participate in all commercial meetings as required.

  • Will ensure prompt submittal and completeness of Contractors monthly payment applications and finalize the payment certificates, performing, and checking of measurement of Work for a) Interim Payments, b) Work executed against Provisional Sums and c) Variations.

  • Maintain and streamline all cost and quantity records.

  • Undertake measurement procedures and calculation of interim and final quantities in consultation with Contract manager.

  • Evaluate the unit rates for new work items, recording the details and monitoring the day works process, assisting in preparing variation orders and in evaluating claims and present to the Contracts Manager for review.

  • Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of entitlement of Contractors claims for review and issuance by the Contracts Manager.

  • Ensure completeness and validity of all contractual requirements.

  • Preparation of financial statements for monthly report.

  • Auditing of payments to Contractors as required.

  • Check and record measurements of completed work.

  • Monitor contract final cost estimate.

  • Preparation of Final Account with all supporting documentation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management/ Quantity Surveying. (or other related field).

  • Professional Membership of MRICS is required.

  • 8+ years of work experience in prime contract administration of major roads and large infrastructure projects is required.

  • Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Conversant with CESMM, FIDIC and other relevant standards.

  • Working knowledge of PC software packages typically associated with contract administration. 

  • Ability to perform in a management capacity is also required.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Related work experience in UAE.

  • UAE Client Approvals will be preferred.

  • Prior Experience working in a Consultancy will be preferred.
