Assures that products and processes produced at Pace Industries are in compliance with customer and internal requirements and specifications. Works effectively with engineers, inspectors, technicians, supervisors and production associates to resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives and promote quality principles. Heavy emphasis will be placed on program development, validation, first article part layout and CMM inspection to qualify new or revised tooling and/or parts.
Work is project-oriented, and you may be working on a number of projects at any given time. Work will be performed with minimal supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(but not limited to…)
- Perform dimensional inspections using Zeiss, Mitutoyo, or similar CMMs across multiple software platforms, ensuring accurate and repeatable measurements..
- Create, modify, and validate CMM programs for new product launches, tooling changes, and engineering revisions.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) and generate detailed inspection reports.
- Collect samples from machining or die-casting cells and verify dimensions per control plan or print.
- Prepare parts for measurement by cleaning, applying developer spray, or enhancing surface contrast to ensure accurate scanning or profilometer readings on reflective aluminum surfaces.
- Measure and record surface finishes using SJ-410 or equivalent profilometer equipment.
- Conduct correlation and repeatability studies to validate measurement accuracy.
- Communicate out-of-specification findings to engineering and production for timely correction.
- Support root cause analysis for dimensional issues and contribute to corrective action implementation.
- Maintain calibration status and ensure gages, fixtures, and CMMs are in verified condition.
- Follow all EHS and Quality Management System procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support quality and production objectives

Qualifications
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of GD&T, blueprints, and tolerance stack-up interpretation.
- Basic computer and data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, or similar).
- Familiarity with surface finish measurement (profilometer/SJ-410) and part sectioning (bandsaw).
