Quality NPI Repair Technician

We are searching for a Quality NPI Repair Technician to join our team in Corona, CA. This role is primarily responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and reassembly of dealer and customer returns, ensuring that every instrument meets Fender’s exacting standards of quality and performance. This individual will work closely with the Quality and Final Assembly teams to support product integrity and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Perform service center repairs on PL10, Specialty, and Specialty Custom Shop guitars manufactured in Corona, CA.
  • Diagnose and repair defects ranging from minor cosmetic to complex assembly and tuning issues.
  • Support repair and rework of returned guitars from the Ensenada plant as needed.
  • Inspect and test guitars to confirm quality standards prior to repackaging and shipment.
  • Maintain accurate repair documentation in SAP, including part requests, labeling, and repair tracking.
  • Ensure all repair inventory is properly accounted for and segregated from Final Assembly stock.
  • Provide weekly repair reports to area management summarizing completed work.
  • Assist in the final inspection process of guitars as required.
  • Support special repair projects and cross-functional quality initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all Fender safety and quality policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in repair or service of Fender guitars and related products.
  • Electronics training from a college or trade school preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to independently diagnose and repair complex guitar issues.
  • Proficient in soldering, assembly, and setup of electric guitars.
  • Familiarity with Fender product specifications, accessories, and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE at all times.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Kaizen principles a plus.
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures, rules, and regulations at all times, and to wear personal protective equipment while on the factory floor, including, without limitation: safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, and protective footwear.
