Join the dynamic team at Pace Industries, located in Muskegon, MI. The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the plant’s quality system, including product audits, inspections, documentation, and corrective actions. This role leads a team of quality specialists and technicians to ensure products meet internal and customer requirements. The Quality Manager interfaces with production, engineering, and customers to identify and resolve quality issues, support process improvement, and maintain compliance with ISO and customer-specific standards. This position focuses on implementing and sustaining procedures that promote consistency, traceability, and quality performance across operations. The role reports to the Director of Quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily quality activities including in-process inspections, final product checks, and documentation review
  • Manage direct reports within the quality department, including assignment of tasks, performance feedback, and development support
  • Ensure consistent application of quality procedures and work instructions throughout production areas
  • Monitor scrap, rework, and customer return trends to identify issues and drive corrective actions
  • Lead initial response and containment for internal quality concerns and customer complaints
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain quality documentation including control plans, PFMEAs, inspection instructions, and records
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of PPAP submissions and APQP deliverables
  • Coordinate internal audits and prepare for customer or third-party audits
  • Train production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and product-specific requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in related field.
  • 2+ years of operational responsibility and team leadership experience.
  • Aluminum Die Cast Industry experience (Preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree required in related field, Master's degree is a plus
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to relate and communicate well with people at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, requirements and competing demands in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
  • Effectively and consistently carry out all responsibilities in a fair and respectful manner and in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust, while influencing leaders and customers.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires extended periods of remaining in stationary position and computer use, while constantly operating a computer and handling office equipment.
  • Ability to visually perceive documents on computer screens.
  • Occasional positioning of the self and movement of up to 10 pounds may be required.
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  • Occasional traversing across the office.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to observe details at a close range.
