Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Microbiology Technician, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by:

  • Performing laboratory testing in accordance with standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans
  • Performing all general laboratory functions including preparing biological media, reagents, glassware, and equipment for bacteriological and chemical testing while maintaining a sufficient supply of consumable materials for delivering on tasks.
  • Environmental monitoring of air and water including bioburden, bacterial endotoxin and viable & non-viable particulate.
  • Issuing Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Compliance as requested.
  • Assisting in the management of non-conforming material and out of specification investigations.
  • Participating in the development of new test procedures and modification of existing procedures as necessary as well as participating in ongoing product and process improvement efforts.
  • Maintaining a well-organized, sufficiently detailed laboratory notebook documenting work and analyses performed; enters data into appropriate databases as necessary.

Your Skills and Expertise: 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, we are looking for the following qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of related laboratory experience required.
  • ASQ Certification as a Quality Technician or equivalent is desired and encouraged.
  • B.S. Degree in Microbiology or Life Sciences is preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $21.82–$32.72.
