Position Summary
We are seeking an accomplished QHSE Manager to lead the Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental function at our Secure Systems & Technologies business unit.
This important leadership role is focused on ensuring excellence in product quality, with a primary emphasis on audit compliance, the continuous advancement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and fostering a culture of excellence across operations. The role will also ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company policies, creating a safe and healthy work environment and a culture of ‘safety first’.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards as well as customer requirements.
- Lead and develop the QHSE team to deliver high standards of compliance, assurance, and performance across the business unit.
- Support the ongoing accreditation of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Act as the primary interface with external auditors, accreditation bodies, regulatory agencies, customer quality representatives; manage audit schedules and responses.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement (CI), embedding lean principles and driving change initiatives across functions.
- Oversee internal audit programmes and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Generation of customer specific quality plans and liaison with customers and suppliers over quality related issues.
- Lead incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Coordinate and deliver required QHSE training and awareness, ensuring all staff are appropriately trained and aware of QHSE responsibilities.
- Support product and process quality through effective inspection, testing, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Provide QA leadership in new product introduction (NPI), design reviews, and configuration/change control processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
- Monitor and report quality performance metrics to senior leadership, offering strategic insights and recommendations.
- Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to develop and sustain a network of high-performing, compliant suppliers.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance team, fostering ownership, accountability, and excellence.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred) or demonstrable equivalent experience in quality leadership.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QHSE leadership role within manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and related standards.
- Experience with QMS platforms.
- Lead Auditor trained with a proven track record of managing audits and accreditation processes.
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or willingness to work towards).
- Professional membership of IOSH or IIRSM (or willingness to work towards).
- Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) — advantageous.

Other Requirements
- Must be eligible for or hold Security Clearance (SC).
- Infrequent travel to suppliers, customers, and other company sites may be required.
