We are looking for a fast-learning, motivated student to support the Global Procurement organization on a diverse range of subjects. From the impact of Geopolitical pressures and ESG on international trade to implementation of AI tools and e-Auctioning.

At Sensata Technologies, we offer students the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that make a real impact on our global operations. For this internship, the assignment and scope can be selected in alignment with the student and supervisor from one of the topics listed below.

1. Tariff and Geopolitical Analysis

A) Tariff Analysis and Mitigation Tool

  • Develop a pragmatic tariff analysis and mitigation model incorporating Sensata’s material streams (by category, supplier, and sub-supplier).

  • Include country of origin data and historic/current tariffs.

  • Create an integrated tool combining tariff and regional cost data to provide fast insights into tariff impacts on Sensata.

B) Continuity of Supply Risk Mitigation Tool

  • Summarize key continuity of supply risks (Voice of Customer, by region).

  • Develop mitigation strategies and evaluation criteria for risks and actions.

  • Combine findings into a practical handbook or summary for internal and external stakeholders.
     

2. ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance)

A) Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

  • Research CBAM legislation and developments.

  • Assess its impact on category roadmaps and sourcing decisions.

  • Propose potential mitigation strategies.

B) Circular Procurement

  • Explore legislation and customer expectations related to circular procurement.

  • Perform a SWOT analysis of the impact on Sensata Procurement.

  • Identify opportunities to benefit Sensata and propose practical implementation guidelines.

3. AI Tools for Procurement

  • Identify procurement tasks that could benefit from AI integration.

  • Research available AI applications and evaluate their potential value to Sensata.

  • Recommend suitable tools and implementation strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.

4. E-Auctions

  • Develop a robust methodology for using e-bidding in Sensata’s sourcing and annual negotiation processes.

  • Define supplier eligibility and decision criteria for effective e-auction use.

  • Categorize the supplier base according to these criteria and recommend prioritization.

  • Provide recommendations for process optimization.
     

Required Qualifications / Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Proactive, eager to learn, and detail-oriented

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Internship may be combined with a graduation project if applicable.
