Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the definition and execution of certification tests for propulsion components and subsystems, including reviewing system testing requirements, plans, procedures, test setups, and equipment capabilities

  • Collaborates with the Production IPT to develop subsystem build and test strategies, identify workarounds for constraints, and prepare for key milestones

  • Works closely with production, engineering support, quality, and technical teams to identify, disposition, and resolve issues related to propulsion system hardware, processes, or procedures

  • Assists in planning and supporting assembly efforts across multiple shifts with technician teams to assemble and integrate propulsion system components; facilitates communication between shifts to share lessons learned and progress

  • Provides system knowledge to Test Conductors, Directors, and Console Operators to help distinguish expected from off-nominal system behavior; supports test personnel and technicians in understanding system configuration and functionality, including contributing to procedural updates and training

  • Supports production floor activities related to propulsion hardware integration; trains and guides technicians to ensure First Time Quality (FTQ) during integration and testing; assists Quality Engineering with non-conformance resolution and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • Provides technical support for fielded systems by assisting in responses to customer queries and offering recommendations

  • Contributes to the development of concepts for future propulsion systems by applying lessons learned from past builds and collaborating with manufacturing engineering to improve build strategies

  • Mentors junior propulsion engineers on manufacturing and test processes, effective communication with production teams, and overall vehicle system knowledge

  • Supports and coordinates work scope with other engineers as assigned

  • Works under general supervision with increasing independence

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience in rocket propulsion

  • 3+ years of experience with propulsion system components, interfaces and their design/integration variables, within aerospace vehicles

  • 3+ years of experience with propulsion system design/integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience working on propulsion systems to include cryogenic & pneumatic delivery systems

  • Experience on space, launch vehicle, and/or aircraft programs

  • Experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): 107,100.00 - $144,900.00

Summary pay range for Lead (Level 4): $129,200.00 - $174,800.00
