Job Description:

  • Role title: Project Officer (S-Check)

  • Role type: Maximum Term Part Time 16 hrs/week (Up to June 2026 with possibility of extension)

  • Role grade: Health Services Manager Grade 1

  • Department and location:  Alcohol and Drug Service, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $84,436.00 - $112,331.00 +super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Lead and manage the S-Check Service, driving service improvements and ensuring smooth day-to-day delivery in collaboration with the Community Outpatient Manager.

  • Oversee reporting and compliance, including preparation of reports for the Community Grants Hub and other funding bodies.

  • Drive innovation and project delivery, developing, managing, and implementing the S-Check model of care and related initiatives.

  • Build strong partnerships, working closely with finance, hospital departments, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, risk management, and service success.

  • Support research and quality improvement, contributing to data collection, reporting, and promotional activities that enhance program outcomes and visibility.

About you

  • Relevant qualifications or project management experience in planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.

  • Strong organisational and strategic thinking skills, with a proven ability to deliver projects effectively from concept to completion.

  • Excellent communication abilities, including experience preparing high-level reports, policies, and advice within the alcohol and other drugs sector.

  • Exceptional time management, able to juggle competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

  • A strong understanding of harm minimisation principles and proven ability to build productive relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders.
