The Opportunity

Hitachi Energy is a global leader in advancing the energy transition, and our Grid Integration business unit is at the centre of this transformation. As the fastest-growing unit in the company, Grid Integration delivers innovative solutions across utilities, industries, data centers, and transportation — from substations and renewables to HVDC, power quality, and digital services. With project volumes rising rapidly, we’re scaling our capabilities and evolving how we work, creating exciting opportunities for professionals ready to drive change.

As part of this transformation, Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Manager – Strategic Incubators based in Europe.
This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee and guide a portfolio of strategic projects that are critical to our growth and transformation. You will act as the single point of contact for a collection of high-impact initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Your ability to manage complexity, foster collaboration, and maintain clear communication will be key to success.

How you will make an impact

  • Oversee the timely evolution and delivery of several strategic incubation projects involving a diverse team of product managers, R&D and business functions

  • Roles as the ‘single point of contact’ for an overview of the collection of strategic incubation projects

  • Regularly report the status of all projects, including KPIs, financials, risks/opportunities, recommendations to mitigate deviations and recovery plans

  • Proactively communicate with all organizational stakeholders to ensure they are informed

  • Collaborate closely with the project leaders to guide the timely realization (on-time, on-budget and in-scope)

  • Responsible to ensure there’s alignment across the organization between different functional teams

  • Drive a structured approach to the execution of the projects e.g., project plans, project deliverables and project updates

  • Constantly drive the organization to identify opportunities to improve the deliverables of projects

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar preferred.

  • 5-10 years’ experience in product marketing, product management and/or product technology in a technology-based organization.

  • Proven track record in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects from initiation to completion — ideally in a technical or industrial environment.

  • Familiarity with the energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors is a plus.

  • Experience working in a multinational business environment preferred.

  • Excellent Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Skills.

  • Comfortable working with project KPIs, budgets, and risk assessments. Able to interpret data, identify deviations, and propose actionable solutions to keep projects on track and within scope.

  • Capable of guiding project leaders and functional teams toward shared goals and timely delivery.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through transformation, identify improvement opportunities, and implement best practices that enhance project outcomes and organizational efficiency.

  • Some level of client-facing experience preferred.

  • Fluent in both written and oral English.
