The Role

Digital Grid Management (DGM), an AspenTech and Emerson business, is a fast-paced, growing high-technology company. As a world leader in the Operations Technology (OT) field, DGM develops and supplies state-of-the-art energy management, optimisation, and control software solutions to energy utility companies worldwide.

As a Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of real-time control systems for leading energy utilities across global markets. You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle, from system design and integration to testing, documentation, and commissioning - helping implement SCADA, HMI, and other utility software applications built on AspenTech OSI’s Monarch platform.

This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical background in a live customer-facing role while building expertise in critical infrastructure technology.

Your Impact

  • Understand project requirements through interactions with customer & internal stakeholders. Coordinate with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Assess technical specification requirements for projects, evaluate risks and identify mitigation plans
  • Design, plan, integrate, test and commission hardware and software requirements on customer systems
  • Provide networking and system/application design
  • Perform hardware, software and system installation, integration and perform factory functional testing for SCADA, HMI and other related functionalities
  • Prepare project documentation and assist in creating training materials as needed
  • Document and track progress of project activities, and report any technical issues

What You'll Need

We’re open to both direct and adjacent background candidates with strong learning aptitude and customer delivery mindset. The ideal candidate will have:

  • ~2-5 years of experience in SCADA systems, industrial automation, or grid control solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Electronics & Communication, or related engineering field
  • Familiarity with utility protocols (IEC104, IEC101, DNP3, Multispeak, IEC 61850) and ICCP integration concepts
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS tools (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL), ODBC, and reporting tools
  • Exposure to software configuration, system integration, and testing in live environments
  • Understanding of operating systems, networking, and system architecture fundamentals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and deliver to timeline
  • Willingness to travel (usually upto 25%) to domestic and international customer sites

    Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of software project delivery lifecycles
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (C#, Python, or similar scripting experience); SQL knowledge
  • Familiarity with networking principles (TCP/IP, routing)
  • Interest in working on mission-critical utility systems.
