Ames Construction, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer in Burnsville, Minnesota – multiple positions available. Responsible for assisting the Project Manager and project team on large, civil infrastructure building projects, project control, scheduling, quantity tracking, budgeting/cost control configuration and tracking, processing submittals, RFI’s, change orders, subcontract administration, materials procurement, owner correspondence and billing, quality tracking and safety requirements. Perform engineering responsibilities in planning and designing and assist in overseeing construction of structures and facilities, such as bridges, roads, railroads, airports and various forms of transportation. Report civil infrastructure project development and budget updates to the Field Operation Manager, assist with billing and change orders and other tasks as assigned. Civil engineering infrastructure projects include transportation, light rail, railroads, mining, energy, water/wastewater, commercial and alternative delivery projects. Identify critical work items; procure long-lead items; resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors; manage document control, submittals schedules and contract documents; and monitor quality control. Oversee project safety and environmental requirements; assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, change orders and project material and equipment; build relationships and communicate with owners and partners; and provide engineering support to Project Manager’s and project staff. Perform other duties as appropriately assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. Requirements – Education: Bachelor of Science degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field. Experience: six months of experience as a Construction Management Intern, Field Intern Engineer, Civil Engineering Intern, Field Engineer or similarly titled position working on civil infrastructure constructions projects such as roads, wastewater treatment plants and buildings, among others. Significant travel, of more than 25%, required to various civil infrastructure project sites across the U.S. The salary range for this position is $76,274 to $100,000.
