The CyberSG R&D Programme Office (CRPO) is a new national centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. CRPO will focus its efforts on three main thrusts to advance cybersecurity comprehensively: cutting-edge research and development, advancements in technology and translational development, and fostering ecosystem/industry growth and training.

CRPO aspires to propel Singapore to the forefront of cybersecurity innovation and implementation, fueled by funding from the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA). This financial backing empowers CRPO to finance visionary projects proposed by diverse entities, including research institutes (RIs), institutions of higher learning (IHLs), and industries. The scope of these initiatives spans the entire Technology Readiness Level (TRL) spectrum, from nascent concepts at TRL 1 to advanced, field-tested solutions at TRL 9, all within the dynamic realm of cybersecurity.

We are looking for a Programme Director (Grant Management) at CRPO to lead the strategic oversight and administration of all grants under CRPO. This role ensures that funding is directed to high-impact cybersecurity research and innovation, fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and government, and accelerates the translation of research into practical solutions. By upholding excellence, transparency, and strategic alignment, the Program Director directly advances CRPO’s mission to build Singapore’s national cybersecurity capabilities and deliver measurable societal and industrial impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Focus Areas:

  • Lead the strategic planning and administration of CRPO’s competitive grant programmes (Grand Challenge, Themed & Emerging Area Grants, Translation & Innovation Grants).

  • Ensure governance, compliance, and transparency in grant evaluation, selection, and fund allocation.

  • Foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government to drive research translation and innovation.

Supporting Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project performance, milestones, deliverables, and risk management to ensure impactful outcomes.

  • Develop and refine grant policies, procedures, and evaluation frameworks.

  • Manage budget allocation and financial stewardship in line with institutional guidelines.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to grant management teams, ensuring operational excellence and professional development.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant qualifications and at least 20 years of working experience.

  • Proven experience managing grant portfolios and overseeing research projects from proposal to completion.

  • Strong knowledge of grant management, research funding processes, compliance, and governance frameworks.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity research, technology commercialization, and industry-academia collaboration.

  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.

  • Competence in budget planning, financial oversight, and risk management.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with experience in fast-paced, high-impact research environments.

  • Project management certifications are an advantage.

The successful applicant will be on a 1-year contract.
