The Production Planner plans, prepares, and guides the process for preparing schedules for products to ensure timely completion of orders based on customer demands & supports continuous improvement efforts for Freeport and Lanark, IL manufacturing.

Responsibility

  • Prepares master schedule of production, adjusting quantities as needed.
    Alters schedules to accommodate special and expedited orders.

  • Notifies appropriate people and teams when cycle counts are required. 

  • Consults with area leader to determine machine availability, labor and department schedules. Consults with Sales Services department to answer inquiries concerning status of production and shipment of orders.

  • Expedites out-of-stock products or previously scheduled orders: consults with area leaders to arrange earlier production dates and reschedule other orders, and follows up progress of orders in process.

  • Monitors raw and finished good inventories and monitors open work orders and works with leadership to coordinate completions or cancel remaining balances.

  •  Prepares and issues various reports to status of orders, delivery dates, dollar volume of orders in the shop, specials, production and shipping, and other reports as required.

  • Support new product development process through participation on NPD teams. Work on product introductions, transitions, etc. Work and communicate continuously with planning, customer service, and production departments to prevent and resolve any issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, materials management, or related field preferred.

  • 5-7 years experience in manufacturing and/or scheduling.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Requires attention to detail and proficiency with computer systems, including Oracle EBS, ASCP, andPS.

  • Must have analytical abilities and excellent computer skills

  • Requires excellent problem solving, delegating, training, negotiating, and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple processes efficiently in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of customer focus.

  • Must exhibit a calm, professional demeanor, and focus on fact-based problem solving while building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.

Salary Range: The compensation range(s) identified below are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
The salary range for this position is $56,300-$73,000.
