The Everyday Business Banking team supports the full spectrum of customers’ needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates.

The Payments Acceptance Team supports our merchant customers to operate and grow their business, through the provision of innovative payment solutions that help them better engage with their customers and suppliers. We are accountable for the end-to-end business customer experience and the delivery of capabilities to support our business customers.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Product Owner to join the team.

Do work that matters
This role reports to the Crew Lead, Core Acquiring Platforms and is accountable for leading a dedicated squad focused on data management, delivery, and run operations across our strategic platforms – OMNIA and GDW2.0. You will drive the development and execution of robust data pipelines, establish and evolve our data quality framework and rules, and ensure operational excellence in run functions. Leveraging your domain expertise in Merchant Data, Data Delivery, or Data Management, you will play a key role in shaping priorities and enabling the squad to successfully meet its business and delivery objectives.

Key areas of impact and contribution include:

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Own and evolve the product roadmap for OMNIA & GDW2 data delivery and run capabilities.

  • Act as the voice of the customer and business, translating needs into actionable squad priorities.

  • Apply domain expertise to support prioritisation, balance trade-offs, and achieve business and customer outcomes.

Data Products & Delivery

  • Develop, own, and run new Merchant Data products and pipelines in OMNIA/GDW2 for internal and external consumption.

  • Lead Data Management initiatives, ensuring compliance with Group Data Management Standards and Policies.

  • Design and implement Data Quality rules and framework to ensure trusted data within the Payment Acceptance domain.

Squad Leadership & Agile Delivery

  • Lead a cross-functional squad, maintaining a healthy and prioritised backlog aligned to business outcomes.

  • Manage squad performance against defined objectives, including OKR tracking.

  • Drive squad effectiveness and agile maturity in partnership with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads (e.g. sprint burndown, release burnup, team health).

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Engineering, and Business Banking to align delivery with strategic objectives.

  • Manage senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure prioritisation is understood and agreed.

  • Ensure all obligations across customer, regulatory, internal policy and process frameworks (e.g. GDF, PDDP, CMRS, SDLC) are met.

  • Identify, articulate, and manage risks, dependencies, and compliance across workstreams.

Community & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to best practices within the Product Owner community at CBA.

  • Role model continuous improvement and customer focus.

  • Address impediments, drive decisions, and resolve escalations to maintain delivery momentum.


We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Proven Product Owner or Product Management experience, preferably Merchant Acquiring, Data Delivery or Data Management.

  • Experience in defining a product roadmaps and delivery of product vision

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Experience with Agile methodology and PACE model would be ideal

  • Experience managing Risks and Product Compliance

  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills

  • Ability to think strategically and analytically using data and insights to make decisions
