The qualified candidate would be part of our fast-moving HP Software & Services Product Marketing team working closely with our product management, worldwide marketing, agencies, insights and content teams. As the Product Marketing Software Portfolio Lead, you will translate technical concepts and product capabilities into compelling marketing messages, enabling our customers to understand the value of our full software portfolio, with an emphasis on our most strategic growth opportunity: The HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP).

We’re looking for an energetic, motivated self-starter who has a passion for technology and can translate the technical capabilities of a software solution into exceptional resources across the buying journey. This position requires a combination of strong technical and marketing skills, project/program management, a passion for learning the competitive landscape, and a deep understanding of IT buyer personas.

This role reports to the global Head of Software & Services Product Marketing and will be responsible for product marketing for the HP Workforce Experience Platform, as well as cross-portfolio Software positioning and content.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about B2B business and marketing, possess a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs, and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the business unit, regional marketing, customer insights, communications and category business leaders as the portfolio subject matter expert. Strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to integrate product, sales, and marketing needs and constraints to deliver on-target narratives that help exceed company goals are essential for success in this role.


The candidate will also be expected to align a minimum of 25% of working hours with the US Central time zone, and be available for international travel 10 - 20% of their time.

Responsibilities:


1. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct and/or guide thorough primary and secondary market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats.
     

2. Customer Insights

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer personas and pain points.​
  • Comfortable presenting to customers and partners in virtual and in-person meetings and events.
     

3. Portfolio and Product Positioning and Messaging

  • Develop clear and compelling product positioning, messaging, and value propositions.
  • Craft and communicate product stories that resonate with target audiences.


4. Sales Enablement

  • Develop sales tools and training materials to support the sales team in effectively selling the product.
  • Conduct product training sessions and provide ongoing support to the sales team.

5. Effective Collaboration

  • Build strong partnerships across cross-functional teams and display excellent influencing, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, contributing to the team's success by confidently exerting informal authority.
     

6. Budget management

  • Manage budget with accuracy and in alignment with applicable company policies.

Qualifications:

  • BA in Marketing, Software Engineering or related field, MBA or similar preferred.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in product marketing, ideally with experience in B2B SaaS or other software product marketing and/or communications.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading portfolio positioning, product messaging, and product launches via integrated marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data-driven insights into impactful strategies and messaging, with eye for creativity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including crafting compelling presentations and marketing collateral.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence stakeholders across various teams and levels.
  • Flexibility and the ability to pivot when changes occur rapidly.
  • Ability to interface effectively with executive management.
  • Natural curiosity with a passion for understanding market trends and customer needs.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic as a self-starter who takes initiative and can manage complex projects with attention to detail, delivering measurable results within tight deadlines.
