Product Manager, Engineering Tools

We're looking experienced Product Manager, Engineering Tools to lead the roadmap, development, and administration of our CAD and PLM systems. This role will bridge engineering with key business functions such as supply chain, manufacturing, and accounting, ensuring product data flows seamlessly and supports cross-functional operations. You will own the product lifecycle of engineering tools, manage system integrations, partner with implementation vendors, and drive program plans to support business growth and product development.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Define and drive the roadmap for engineering tools, including CAD and PLM systems, aligning with business and engineering goals
  • Lead end-to-end Product Management for Engineering Tools, from discovery and requirement gathering to release planning and stakeholder communication
  • Manage the administration, configuration, and optimization of PLM infrastructure and integrations with adjacent systems (ERP, MES, WMS)
  • Act as the primary POC with implementation partners, driving program plans, phased rollouts, testing, training, and change management
  • Ensure engineering releases are accurately reflected in downstream systems impacting manufacturing, supply chain, finance/accounting, and maintenance/service
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and IT/compliance teams to deliver scalable and secure solutions
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure system performance, data integrity, and business impact
  • Embed industry best practices, emerging technologies, and requirements related to engineering data management

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management or equivalent roles, specifically focused on Engineering Tools (CAD, PLM)
  • Proven track record delivering and executing roadmaps for PLM platforms (i.e. NX, Teamcenter, 3DX, Arena, Agile, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of engineering release processes and their implications on supply chain, manufacturing, finance/accounting
  • Strong understanding of the differences in CAD file formats with the ability to audit, repair, and validate migrated models to ensure dimensional accuracy and functionality
  • Strong experience managing PLM infrastructure and integrations across business systems
  • Solid understanding of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) structures, including how CAD data flows into both
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale PLM implementations and manage vendor relationships and program execution
  • Excellent communication and Strong systems thinking and analytical skills; ability to identify and solve complex cross-functional problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on knowledge of CAD systems (i.e. SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) and their integration with PLM
  • Experience in high-growth manufacturing or hardware-centric companies

Physical Requirements: 

  • Sit, stand, crawl, crouch, walk, and climb a ladder, as needed
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Speak and hear verbal communication 

Working Conditions:  

  • Mostly office environment 
  • Occasional venture into hazardous industrial/construction areas with heavy machinery and potential chemical/metal/temperature exposure.
  • Occasional venture into outdoor construction areas with heavy machinery and dust.
  • Participation in support team on-call rotation for after-hours support
  • Occasional domestic and international travel 

 

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
