Job Description
OES Equipment, a member of the DPR Family of Companies, operates within the dynamic construction industry as a supply, fabrication, and rental equipment organization. We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join the Supply Chain team, focusing on Steel (LGS, Structural, plates, Rebar, etc.). This individual will be responsible for the day-to-day project interaction, supplier communication, purchasing, expediting and overall coordination of all aspects of the material supply for our construction and fabrication operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process by securing Steel purchases while meeting project schedule requirements.
- Participate in vendor/manufacturer solicitation, selection, and management.
- Work with vendors/manufacturers on achieving price certainty for bulk coil purchases based on forecasts of material
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks.
- Prepare bid tallies for potential projects
- Manage procurement check-in meetings with suppliers/manufacturers/project teams to track project needs & fabrication status and relay communication to stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Assist in tracking material deliveries and review and acceptance of required testing/quality documentation (CMTRs, etc) for the steel purchased as needed.
- Assist in reconciliation between systems for purchases, invoices, prepays and steel deposits.
- Manage quality, documentation, damages or any other issues that arise to conclusion with the appropriate vendors.
- Oversee contract negotiations and purchase orders in collaboration with corresponding project leads, preconstruction teams, risk management teams, vendors, manufacturers or material suppliers.
- Improve cost management, strategic partnerships, and supplier management.
- Utilize project management and procurement systems.
- Develop and distribute reports to communicate status and action items for internal and external project requirements.
- Assist with billings to ensure that invoices are submitted in a timely manner per project requirements.
- Participate and contribute to the process and systems improvements for the Steel program.
- Procure steel products as needed for all the FoC (family of Companies) and DPR as needed
- Define agreements with vendors attain cost certainty to optimize material costs in fabrication
- Coordinate purchases of materials with stakeholders to meet project deadlines

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or supply chain related field preferred OR at least 5 years of relevant experience in purchasing steel.
- Experience managing and procuring complex steel packages and understanding steel commodity trends.
- Experience with procurement systems/processes/tools.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Demonstrated history of interpreting contracting language/ terminology and applying strong negotiation skills to secure favorable outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of common construction project management methodologies.
- Experience working with General Contractor or EPC firm preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution skills.

Other Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering concepts and applicable codes.
- 3-5 years of commercial and/or industrial construction experience.
- Ability to coordinate and optimize interactions and applicable deliverables with engineering and construction teams.
- Familiarity with Procurement software (Coupa), Scheduling software (P6 or equivalent)
- Global purchasing experience a plus but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain management specific to construction.
- Ability to develop, embrace, and deploy innovative solutions.
- Bilingual English – Spanish
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up-to 50 lbs. at times.
- May involve standing, lifting, and moving for extended periods.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
