The Process Safety Engineering Intern will support the site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) program to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable chemical manufacturing operations. The role involves assisting in the identification and mitigation of process hazards, supporting risk assessments, and contributing to the continuous improvement of safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in process hazard analyses (HAZOP, What-If, LOPA) and risk assessments.

  • Assist in reviewing and updating Process Safety Information (PSI) such as P&IDs, process descriptions, and equipment data.

  • Support Management of Change (MOC) processes by assessing safety impacts of proposed modifications.

  • Contribute to incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development of corrective actions.

  • Help develop and implement process safety training and awareness materials for operations staff.

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with internal safety standards, regulatory requirements (OSHA PSM / local equivalents), and environmental guidelines.

  • Participate in safety audits, inspections, and performance tracking initiatives.
