General Summary:

This role ensures that teams operate effectively by facilitating CXO’s agile collaborative ways of working, enabling team members, and maintaining clarity around priorities. They support consistent execution by running team routines, removing blockers, and promoting efficient collaboration through shared systems and workflows.
Acting as a connector across CXO teams, business partners, and leadership, this role fosters alignment with broader organizational objectives while ensuring transparency within the working teams. throughout associated working teams . By championing servant-leadership and collaboration, this role empowers contributors to deliver impactful outcomes and continuously improve how the team works together.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture and Analysis

  • Partners with the business areas to gain an understanding of its strategy and is able to use that information to help define solutions to address business challenges or specific business problems.
  • Partners with IT to understand existing systems capabilities and helps recommend new system capabilities that support the overall business strategy or solutions for specific initiatives
  • Works with senior managers (Directors, AVP, VP) along with subject matter experts of a functional areas to develop business cases for new business opportunities
  • Conducts feasibility studies, risk assessments and impact analyses to help determine the optimal business solutions
  • Capable of understanding and explaining how existing business architecture may need to change/evolve to satisfy business model changes.

Business and Process Analysis and Design

  • Facilitates and/or leads joint process reviews, requirements elicitation and design sessions with both the business and IT to understand current state and future state business process.
  • Leads analysis activities and/or directs analysts on the appropriate analysis techniques such as process mapping, value stream mapping, Use Cases, business rules definition, prototyping and simulations to use to help identify solutions and determine the business or technical capabilities that need to be developed.
  • Provides information and knowledge to business and IT owners/leaders to facilitate effective decision making.
  • Provides critical thinking and leadership from ideation through execution

Business Partnering and Leadership

  • Establishes strong, effective and collaborative partnerships within/across functional areas, and with support organizations to create complete, effective solutions
  • Strongly influences solution design that align with strategic objectives, support business goals, deliver efficiency gains and reduce costs to business partners' operations, while servicing our customers
  • Creates conditions that support a redesign team environment for innovation, risk taking, open mindedness, honesty, candor, respect and communication
  • Depending on the initiative, may be expected to play a leadership role in project initiation, defining scope, objectives and design criteria of the initiative, expected deliverables, approach used and/or the  resources required with business partners
  • Works with internal and/or external partners to create shared value for clients
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Consulting and Mentoring
  • Work with the internal partner teams to ensure that they have the knowledge and tools needed to effectively navigate data or data feed issues to resolve as quickly as possible; provide coaching and education as needed.
  • Consult with internal partner teams to research and assess root cause of data issues; support client facing roles on partner/client calls as needed
  • Act as an initial point of escalation for tech partner data issues; escalate to Partner Management as needed

Job Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of insurance and/or financial services industry experience/background
  • 5+ years of Business Analysis or Systems Analysis experience/background
  • Broad knowledge of multiple business areas, their operation/objectives and supporting systems
  • Extensive knowledge of the products, services and business functions/processes  business areas.
  • Extensive experience as a business liaison for large and/or complex cross-functional projects 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; should be able to effectively articulate difficult, complex and multi-faceted ideas and concepts through clear and concise verbal and/or written communication
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong persuasion, influencing and partnering skills
  • Strong conflict detection and management skills
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong consultative and advisory skills
  • High degree of initiative and action oriented
  • Experience with business process modeling, Use Cases and business rules definition and management
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required
  • Strong understanding of Ben Admin, Enrollment and Payroll technology platforms business model, technical capabilities and special handling needs.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$75,500.00-$142,700.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.  All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
