Details of the Division and Team:

To achieve strong growth in Private Bank Middle East (ME) [and APAC] Lending volumes and revenues – under a sales management approach - while maintaining credit quality and minimizing credit losses for problem loans / workouts. Loan structuring skills and focus on operational matters are required.

Your key responsibilities:

1. To act as lead Lending Officer for PB ME [and APAC] with transactions booked in DB Switzerland or any other EMEA booking centers and DB Singapore. Assisting and driving the PB Client Advisors (CAs) in all their credit-related needs, i.e.:

  • To determine client needs and the feasibility of a credit transaction

  • To structure the transaction to make it acceptable from both commercial and risk standpoints

  • To draft a Credit Report to be reviewed and submitted by the respective Lending department in the different booking centers 

  • To get deals approved by Risk Management, through discussions / conference calls

  • To coordinate approval implementation with Risk Management

  • To follow up on approval credit approval conditions

  • Negotiation/advisory part including term sheet creation and negotiations, collateral valuation process coordination, etc. with clients, relationship managers, collateral experts and technical advisers, etc

  • Participating in clients/prospects meetings and traveling to the GCC to identify new business opportunities to grow the lending as well as the Gulf asset book in close collaboration with the CAs

  • To have all the relevant documentation finalized and signed (tendering process to appoint law firms, negotiation, review of documents and invoice management), in liaison with legal

  • To ensure timely closing of Annual Reviews

  • Assist the booking center in Loan work outs

  • Maintain close control over the Lending book under the LO responsibility (maturities like Insurances on RRE, Covenants delivery etc)

2. To provide mutual back-up to other team member(s) while travelling or on leave,

3. To promote credit as a business (client acquisition/retention, cross-sell AuM growth and revenue generation) within the context of a broad IPB relationship through training, product presentation and platform improvement projects

4. To identify and improve processes (locally or within EMEA) for the Lending product that require enhancement / adjustment in order to create an efficient and effective ‘risk-averse’ environment

5. To foster knowledge sharing, development, personal development and behavior in line with DB values & beliefs as a member of the Lending EMEA team

6. To participate to key projects of Lending function (technical projects like GlobeR or regulatory projects)

Coverage

  • CAs in charge of ME [and APAC] IPB business and transactions booked in EMEA booking centers and DB Singapore

Your skills and experience:

  • At least 6 years+ of relevant experience gained in private banking or international financial institutions

  • Knowledge in fundamental financial analysis for corporates, dealing with corporate finance transactions and structured credit transactions

  • Knowledge of the full scope of the DB WM credit products such as Lombard, Real Estate financing in multiple jurisdictions, hedge funds and PE financing etc.

  • Possesses good understanding of the DB credit process, policies, and related legal/ regulatory requirements. Thorough knowledge of capital markets and derivatives products.

  • Strong communicator (both written and verbal skills) with an ability to write concise reports

  • Have an open mindset and respects challenging views from different stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills and an independent decision-maker with ability to support or defend positions.

  • Team oriented, flexible, diligent, self-motivated and being an example to junior teammates

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with wide range of cultures / personal styles and to establish strong partnership with DB stakeholders

  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines in an amicable manner
