About your team

Fidelity Multi Asset is a global team, managing portfolios using a wide range of asset classes including equities, bonds, real estate, infrastructure and other alternatives. The team specialises in building and managing outcome-focused strategies for clients, combining asset classes to deliver specific objectives. We invest using a team-based approach, where Portfolio Managers draw from a broad pool of investment ideas, generated by our experienced public and private assetanalysts across Markets Research, Strategy & Instrument Research and Quantitative Research teams, as well as Fidelity's wider global research platform.

The Operational Due Diligence (ODD) team plays a critical role in safeguarding Fidelity’s investments by assessing the operational soundness of external managers across private and public markets. The team provides independent oversight of governance, processes, and controls, ensuring that each investment partner operates to the highest standards of operational integrity and risk management. The team has exposure to a wide range of stakeholders both within Fidelity and externally.

About your role

As a Private Asset Senior Analyst, you will play a key role in conducting and coordinating Operational Due Diligence (ODD) reviews on private asset managers and investment opportunities. Your work will help ensure that Fidelity’s investments are supported by strong operational infrastructures and that potential risks are identified, assessed, and managed proactively.

 
Key Responsibilies:

  • Conduct Operational Due Diligence on private market investments and fund managers.
  • Recommend improvements or remedial actions where enhanced assurance is required.
  • Conduct background checks and integrity reviews on key individuals and firms engaged with Fidelity’s private market investments.
  • Produce and present ODD reports and management information to decision-making and governance committees.Advise investment teams on ODD findings and highlight operational risks and mitigations.
  • Collaborate with Investment, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure timely resolution of escalated issues.Lead or contribute to onsite due diligence visits, developing strong relationships with fund managers.Maintaining up-to-date awareness of changes in the regulatory landscape and best practices within the industry.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects focused on enhancing ODD methodologies, automation, and best practices.

Organisation and development:

  • Liaising with internal teams to strengthen operational due diligence processes.
  • Promote the ODD function and its value across the broader investment organisation.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements of ODD frameworks, reflecting regulatory change and industry best practice in private markets.Work proactively to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality in ODD execution and reporting.

About you

Experience and Skills

  • Proven experience in Operational Due Diligence (ODD) within private markets — such as private equity, private credit, real estate, or infrastructure.Strong understanding of private fund structures, including limited partnerships, co-investments, and fund-of-funds.
  • Familiarity with operational and regulatory considerations specific to private markets (e.g., valuation methodologies, cash management, subscription lines).
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret financial statements to assess a company's financial health and identify operational risks.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and report-writing skills, with strong attention to detail and sound judgement.
  • Confident communicator capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and external fund managers.
  • Experience working in or with public markets ODD or investment oversight would be considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Industry specific qualification strongly recommended; ACCA/ACA , IMC, CFA, CAIA etc.
