Position Summary

The Print as a Service and VDI Platform Engineering Leader is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operational stability of GE HealthCare’s cloud-managed print services and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) platforms. This role leads technical strategy, platform development, and service delivery across a global footprint, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that support business continuity and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Print as a Service (PaaS) Engineering

• Lead the technical design and implementation of cloud-managed print services, including integration with HP, ServiceNow, and HCL platforms
• Oversee printer fleet configuration, CMDB accuracy, and lifecycle management across ASPAC, EMEA, and AMER regions
• Drive quarterly operations reviews, presenting KPIs, ticket volumes, and fleet data to regional IT managers
• Manage escalations, vendor relationships, and service improvements with a focus on transparency and accountability

VDI Platform Engineering

• Architect and maintain VDI platforms (e.g., Citrix, Virtual PC), ensuring performance, security, and user experience
• Manage virtual image lifecycle, including build, deployment, and patching processes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to optimize VDI environments for enterprise use cases.
• Implement monitoring and automation tools to enhance platform reliability and reduce operational overhead.

 Platform Operations & Engineering Excellence

• Develop and maintain platform engineering standards, documentation, and automation scripts.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead adaptive, preventative, and perfective maintenance efforts across both PaaS and VDI platforms.
• Monitor system health and proactively resolve issues to minimize disruptions and outages.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a technical escalation point and mentor for junior engineers.
• Partner with product management, service delivery, and business stakeholders to align platform strategy with organizational goals.
• Support and partner with L2/L3 teams to ensure platform and operational continuity

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in IT platform engineering, with at least 3 years in print services or VDI environments.
• Proven experience in cloud-managed print architecture and/or Citrix/VDI platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of endpoint orchestration, identity platforms, and enterprise security.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, CMDB, and enterprise asset management systems.
