Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) sector is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Project Management & Onboarding Support Specialist to join our team of qualified individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC).

This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area.

What You’ll Get to Do:

You will fill a role within a large business organization, and will support the Program Integration Team, and work with program managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to establish and enable onboarding new employees to a rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assist in the definition, planning, organizing, and execution of all onboarding activities for a large, diverse, and geographically distributed organization.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to understand, capture, and define onboarding processes.

  • Develop and refine onboarding-related materials.

  • Liaise with team developing onboarding automation tools.

  • Applies critical thinking and synthesis to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, escalating process and performance challenges to supervisor as necessary.

  • Assure success of onboarding activities through regular monitoring of all processes and frequent reporting.

  • Inform and advises higher level management on onboarding activities and status.

  • Facilitate meetings and coordinate onboarding activities.

This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Project Management or SR Principal Project Management level.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Project Management:

  • Bachelors Degree with 5 years', Master's Degree with 3 years', or a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience (An additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).

  • Demonstrated experience supporting onboarding activities and processes.

  • Experience supporting Program or Project Management activities.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software tools and systems, e.g. Excel, Teams, SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams (i.e. human resources, program management, engineering, software engineering, etc).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • U.S. citizenship.

  • Current active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to start.

  • Bachelors Degree with 8 years', Master's Degree with 6 years', or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience (An additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).

  • Demonstrated experience supporting onboarding activities and processes.

  • Experience supporting Program or Project Management activities.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software tools and systems, e.g. Excel, Teams, SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams (i.e. human resources, program management, engineering, software engineering, etc).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in Aerospace & Defense.

  • Experience with leading and defining onboarding or other orientation and startup activities. 

  • Experience engaging with senior leaders or executives.

  • Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira, Confluence.

  • Current/Active TS/SCI with recent Polygraph.

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
