We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Budget Analyst with expertise in managing and analyzing budgets specifically related to the Chief Information and Digital Office. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, independent, with a strong analytical background, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide insightful financial guidance for IT-related projects and initiatives with all levels of leadership. You will play a critical role in ensuring the effective allocation and management of financial resources to support the organization’s technology objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key business management representative collaborating with executive leadership in support of strategic initiatives across Chief Information and Digital Office
  • Develop, analyze, and monitor expense and capital budgets related to the Chief Information and Digital Office to ensure effective financial management.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure accuracy in budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings within IT expenditures.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management outlining budgetary performance, risks, and implications for strategic decision-making.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies and financial regulations related to IT spending.
  • Provide guidance and support to departmental personnel regarding budgetary processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in long-term financial planning and strategy development for enterprise-level technology initiatives.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts and interns as needed.

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the requirements below.

Basic Qualifications Principal (level 3):

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or related roles.  OR Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with 3 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or related roles.

- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and tools, particularly in relation to IT agreements and contracts.

- Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial modeling software, ERP systems).

Basic Qualifications Sr Principal (level 4):

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or related roles.  OR Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with 6 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or related roles.

- Strong knowledge of financial management principles, practices, and tools, particularly in relation to IT agreements and contracts.

- Proficiency in financial analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, financial modeling software, ERP systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters degree

- Relevant certifications (CMA, CPA, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,400.00 - $113,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $93,800.00 - $140,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
