About the Role
Principal Specialist - SAP Controlling & Profitability Analysis will be responsible for designing and deploying solutions within the finance and controlling domains. This individual will leverage best practices and prior experience to enhance our processes and toolsets in these areas. In addition to leading and supporting various projects, the Principal Specialist will provide P1-level support across all business units related to finance and controlling. Furthermore, they will train team members in their technical areas of expertise and serve as a mentor to newer associates.
What You Will Do
- Design, configure, implement, and support SAP Controlling – Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of CO-PA data structures, characteristics, value fields, and segment characteristics.
- Possess deep expertise in CO-PA master data, characteristic derivations, valuations, and strategies.
- Understand actual data flow from various modules including Finance, Sales, MM, PP, and PS.
- Apply strong knowledge of CO-PA planning, including interface and integration tools.
- Manage CO-PA period close activities such as allocation cycles, error handling in actual data flow, and top-down distribution.
- Prepare detailed margin analysis reports and interpret cost and revenue flows.
- Collaborate as a lead or team member on project teams to coordinate development and define project scope and limitations.
- Make significant contributions to solution architecture.
- Exhibit cross-functional expertise in FI, SD, MM, PS, and Production Planning.
- Review ABAP code to identify and resolve issues.
- Evaluate project requests to estimate time and cost requirements.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions on new functionalities.
What You Need to Be Successful
- 10–15 years of experience in configuring SAP Controlling – Profitability Analysis & SAP S/4HANA
- Experience in global implementations of SAP S/4HANA FICO, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to adapt to dynamic project environments and manage multiple projects in lead and/or support roles.
- Strong cross-cultural awareness and skills in influence, communication, and problem-solving.
- Proven project management experience.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Holds a Master’s degree in Accounting, Cost Accounting, or MBA in Finance / CA / ICWA.
- Certification in SAP S/4HANA CO – Management Accounting (Professional or Associate level).
- Fluent in English with excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, including strong conflict resolution, collaboration, and negotiation abilities.
