About the Role
Principal Specialist - SAP Controlling & Product Costing will be responsible for designing and deploying solutions within the finance and controlling domains. This individual will apply best practices and experience to enhance our processes and toolsets in these areas. In addition to leading and supporting projects, the Principal Engineer will provide P1-level support across all business units related to finance and controlling. Furthermore, they will train team members in their technical areas of expertise and serve as a mentor to newer associates.
What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and support standard and actual product costing, including cost object controlling, production order costing, and Product Cost Collector costing
- Activate, configure, and manage the Material Ledger, including costing runs, inventory valuation, and multi-currency and parallel valuation.
- Expert-level customization experience in COPC for planned cost scenarios, including Standard Costing (Legal), Group Valuation with Standard Cost, Transfer Pricing (Markup/Freight Cost), Intercompany (IC) Costing, and Subcontracting Costing.
- Cost Analys Perform detailed variance analysis to understand cost drivers and variances in production and allocate them to inventory and consumption.
- Product Costing month end close (Overhead, Variance, Settlement) and Actual Cost Run.
- Work as part of a project team as lead and/or member to coordinate development and determine project scope and limitations.
- Major contribution in architecting solutions.
- Cross functional expertise in FI, SD, MM, PS and Production Planning.
- Ability to review ABAP coding to identify any issues.
- Review project requests describing user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions on new functionalities.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Minimum of 10–15 years of overall experience in configuring SAP S/4HANA CO-PC (Product Costing, Material Ledger, and Actual Costing)
- Experience in global implementations of SAP S/4HANA FICO, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Global implementations experience in SAP S/4HANA FICO and experience with automotive industry.
- SAP S/4 HANA CO – Product Cost Certification (Professional / Associate)
- Possess skills in cross-cultural awareness, influence, communication, and problem solving.
- Project management experience
Bonus Points if You Have
- Holds a Master’s degree in Accounting, Cost Accounting, or MBA in Finance / CA / ICWA.
- Fluent English speaking, Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship management skills with excellent conflict resolution, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects as lead and/or support member.
