The MPS Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Master Production Schedule to ensure customer demand is met efficiently while balancing capacity, materials, and production resources. This role collaborates cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Planning, Procurement, and Operations Program Managers to support on-time delivery, inventory targets, and production stability / planning.

What You Will Do

  • Build, maintain, and publish the Master Production Schedule (MPS) on a monthly basis.
  • Translate demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory targets into a feasible production schedule.
  • Ensure MPS aligns with capacity, material availability, and labor constraints.
  • Monitor adherence to schedule and adjust based on changes in demand, supply, or production issues.
  • Analyze capacity vs. demand to identify constraints and recommend solutions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Supply Planning, and Procurement to mitigate shortages, capacity overloads, or delays.
  • Participate in SIOP planning cycles, providing data and scenario analysis.
  • Balance production output with required inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excess.
  • Review demand changes, customer priorities, and Overdue to adjust scheduling accordingly.
  • Track and support improvement of key KPIs: Overdue, On-Time Delivery (OTD), inventory turns, schedule adherence, etc.
  • Communicate schedule changes and risks to cross-functional teams and leadership.
  • Partner with Operation Program Managers to support customer commitments and escalations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact regarding production schedules and constraints.
  • Maintain data integrity in the ERP/MRP systems related to MPS, planning parameters, and production schedules.
  • Analyze performance, identify root causes for schedule deviations, and recommend process improvements.
  • Support or lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field, preferred
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar).
  • Experience with Excel and/or advanced planning tools (SAP-APO/Kinaxis/Rapid Response).
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP).
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-mix, fast-paced production environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and S&OP/SIOP processes.
