The Principal Software Engineer on the Caption cloud team drives the design and development of scalable, cloud-native SaaS solutions for our AI-powered ultrasound products. This role is critical in defining the architecture of our AWS-based platform, ensuring high performance, security, and seamless integration with clinical workflows. Beyond technical leadership, this position mentors and empowers developers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. By advancing accessibility to cutting-edge ultrasound technology, this role directly contributes to earlier detection and improved patient outcomes—transforming the future of healthcare.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement scalable cloud-based software solutions on AWS in .NET/C#.
- Define and enforce best practices for software design, security, and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, build, and evolve the cloud platform.
- Mentor and support developers through code reviews, design sessions, and technical guidance.
- Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Lead technical planning and decision-making across projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
- Participate in team meetings to align on goals, share insights, and drive innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a software architecture role.
- Proven track record in designing and delivering enterprise-grade SaaS platforms.
- Strong expertise in cloud architecture, particularly AWS services (e.g., EKS (Kubernetes), EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, Secrets Manager, API Gateway, and ELB).
- Deep proficiency in .NET and C#, with a solid grasp of scalable design patterns and performance optimization.
- Thorough understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, FDA).
- Familiarity with healthcare or medical imaging systems.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to mentor and inspire engineering teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $168,000.00-$252,000.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
