Position Overview:
Entrust is recruiting a Principal Software Developer & Architect for the Secure Issuance R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, guiding, and advancing a strategic technical roadmap for enterprise financial applications, with a focus on innovation. In this architectural role, responsibilities include designing new products and features and delivering scalable solutions for both cloud-based and on-premises platforms, leveraging AI and analytics. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to product development, possess the ability to work autonomously, respond effectively to shifting technical priorities and challenges, and manage complex projects with proficiency.
Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise (75%): Responsible for architecting, designing, and developing software solutions, leading AI integration initiatives within the SI platform, evaluating system architectures, and overseeing major projects. Offers specialized architectural expertise, guides engineering teams, and serves as the organization's SME to external representatives.
Leadership (25%): Provides mentorship and guidance to team members, actively anticipates architectural challenges, fosters collaborative relationships across departments through influence, encourages creative approaches to problem-solving, and takes the lead in organizing hackathons and architectural forums that fit within the technology roadmap.
Basic Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
20+ years in agile software development; 10+ years with Java/J2EE, .NET/.NET Core, C++
10+ years in security protocols, cryptography, and PKI
5+ years in secure mobile development (iOS, Android, Blackberry)
Strong influence skills to drive product innovation and roadmap
Web services expertise (REST, JSON, XML, SOAP)
Hands-on experience: global financial platforms, chip OS, Oracle/DB2/SQL, networking protocols, LDAP/LDAPS, microservices, Kubernetes, AI, analytics
Extensive work with enterprise-level microservice deployment and maintenance in distributed environments
Skilled problem-solver with adaptability and innovative mindset
Experience in middleware, workflow engines, database (SQL), systems engineering, embedded systems, smart cards, cloud architecture
Knowledgeable in on-premises and cloud systems/tools (vSphere, Azure, AWS)
Experienced in SSDLC, software security best practices, threat modelling, certificate management, and API development for commercial/external products
Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Master’s degree in Engineering or an MBA.
Demonstrated track record of delivering innovative products.
Exhibits exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Displays strong instincts and abilities in situational leadership.
Recognized as the sole inventor on a patent
Has made contributions to Open Source initiatives and has published work in academic journals.
