The Principal Product Manager – Enterprise Data Products Opportunity

Okta is seeking a Principal Product Manager – Enterprise Data Products to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of our internal data platform and core data products including foundational AI/ML solutions. Reporting to the Sr Director, Enterprise Data Platform, Engineering, & Architecture, this role is responsible for shaping the core data product roadmap, defining requirements across multiple tools and use cases, working with internal stakeholders to improve user experience, and ensuring that our data foundation and data operations enables scalable AI-powered products and quicker decision making across the company.

This role requires a product leader who can balance today’s needs with building for the future. You will partner across technology, data engineering and analytics, and operations teams to ensure our internal stakeholders can leverage data securely and effectively. You’ll also be responsible for managing vendor relationships, evaluating integrations, and enabling high-value data and analytics use cases that accelerate company growth.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Define and Execute the Data Product Roadmap
    • Own the strategy and requirements for the team’s core platform and data products, focusing on platform scalability, user experience, revenue growth, and transformational AI/ML capabilities.
    • Translate stakeholder needs into clear, actionable requirements and prioritize delivery based on impact.
    • Manage the implementation and rollout plan of new data platform capabilities and data products.
  • Drive Data Product Enablement
    • Identify, prioritize, and support high-value use cases that deliver meaningful impact.
    • Champion internal enablement by making platform tooling and AI/ML operations intuitive and accessible to a broad set of users.
    • Track adoption to identify enablement opportunities, engage with power users for feedback, and measure value.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships & Integrations
    • Oversee vendor evaluations and integrations within the data platform, ensuring solutions align with Okta’s security, scale, and product priorities.
    • Maintain a strong balance between vendor capabilities and in-house innovation.
    • Work closely with the AI team to align company AI products with data needs and analytics solutions.
  • Lay the Foundation for Future Growth
    • Balance short-term execution with long-term vision for data and AI/ML data products.
    • Plan and execute towards the Data & Insights team’s data strategy and AI/ML long term strategy.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally
    • Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, and analytics to ensure alignment and delivery.
    • Support operations teams in prioritizing use cases, delivery, and synthesizing feedback loop.
    • Communicate vision, priorities, and progress clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
    • Partner with Technology and Finance leaders to align budgeting and financial planning with team goals and priorities.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience: 12+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data products, analytics, and/or AI-driven products.  Experience with working in a high compliance/high security regulated environment is a plus.
  • Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to define product roadmaps, align execution with business goals, and present strategy and goals to all levels of leadership.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of data platforms, ML operations, security considerations, and UX needs in enterprise data and analytics contexts, including cloud applications like Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, and Tableau. Familiarity with data pipeline and orchestration tools like dbt, Airflow, Fivetran.
  • Vendor Management: Experience owning vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, integration oversight, and roadmap alignment.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven track record of partnering with engineering, security, and business leaders to deliver high-impact products.
  • Balance of Today vs. Tomorrow: Ability to deliver immediate value while building scalable foundations for future innovation.

The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$210,000$316,000 USD

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between:
$188,000$282,000 USD
