JOB DUTIES:                                    

Create and communicate a vision which anticipates, identifies and explains challenges and opportunities that the company will encounter with IBRs integration and operation to demonstrate compliance with NERC and Regional reliability standards applicable to ERCOT. Develop processes and solutions that maximize effectiveness and exert influence across the enterprise to increase achievement, productivity, effectiveness. Expand ERCOT capabilities and innovation in engineering. Expand ERCOT capabilities and innovation in developing and adopting best industrial practices for reliable IBR operations. Provide technical expertise to business for IBR issues and lead projects as needed. Represent ERCOT in stakeholder forums, committees, and working groups to provide information on ERCOT systems, practices and capabilities and ensure informed leadership. Participate in industry activities and provide comments and input to standards and procedures such as NERC, ISO RTO council, and IEEE that may affect ERCOT now or in the future. Publish industry-leading conceptual papers. Serve as subject matter expert in the IBRs and its technology development. Contribute to the development of new concepts and methods using knowledge gained through wide-reaching experiences. Perform in program or project leadership role as needed. Interact with management and senior customers on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Advise and mentor ERCOT staff to ensure a strong core of technology awareness and an advanced level of capability appropriate to the employee’s position and function. 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION:               

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:              

Ten (10) years of experience as Operations Engineer, Operations Specialist, Operations Team Lead, Standards and Modeling Team Lead, or Standards and Modeling Specialist.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:            

The required ten (10) years of experience as Operations Engineer, Operations Specialist, Operations Team Lead, Standards and Modeling Team Lead, or Standards and Modeling Specialist must have been in grid operations for the electric utility industry.

 

OTHER:                                             

May telecommute up to 3 days per week from within the State of Texas. #LI-DNP

OFFERED WAGE:                             $174,304.00 - $281,818.00 per year
