A Pricing Manager sets and optimizes prices of ocean products within the assigned geographical scope, offering the most relevant prices to customers while maximizing the profit for Maersk. This is done through use of data analysis, forecasting and close coordination with frontline stakeholders. The Pricing Manager role is a key enabler of executing asset optimization strategies, while monitoring the effects of data-based pricing decisions to enable continuous learnings and improvements.

Key responsibilities

  • Setting and achieving Area ROFO targets and driving area sales to achieve market plans.
  • Demonstrate commercial savviness in the customer-centric strategy, price setting and execution to target volumes basis area business plan.
  • Maintain maximum accuracy on weekly demand forecasting and appraise change in market & competition outlook.
  • Pricing SPOT to utilize open capacity & act as CPM (contract product managers) to price contract basis modelship. Manage area allocations in line with space and opportunity size
  • Own the commercial plan for the area and participate/ lead initiatives under the long term plan.
  • Working closely with uptake managers on utilization of space and sharing forecasts/ market demand information to better optimize the services
  • Engage with equipment leads to ensure adequate availability of equipment to achieve targets or price to balance flows.
  • Cross functional collaboration by being a SPOC for discussions with other teams, related to commercial outlook for the area, capacity, equipment, rates and L&S.
  • Continuous development and optimization of pricing processes, models, frameworks, and tools. Example ORA, integrated dynamic routing, algo pricing, offer availability.

  • Ability to deal in ambiguous situations and lead without authority.
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer orientation set up with deep understanding of the ocean business.
  • Data driven approach to drive business decisions.
  • Team player with hands-on experience of working with cross-functional teams.
     working with dependencies within the team and support the overall objectives of the team.
  • Agile mindset to thrive in the intra gulf market and operate with resilience.
