Job Description:

HPE Cloud Ops Suite unifies HPE Morpheus VM Essentials, HPE Morpheus Enterprise, and HPE OpsRamp to help customers modernize operations across private, public, and hybrid environments. The suite delivers automation, observability, and self-service orchestration that enable customers and partners to simplify management, reduce cost, and accelerate digital transformation.

The Cloud Ops Suite Sales Engineering Manager leads a regional team of VM Essentials Engineers and Morpheus Enterprise Pre-Sales Architects.
This role combines channel enablement leadership with enterprise presales oversight, ensuring consistent technical messaging, enablement, and customer success across both motions.

The leader will balance people management, technical credibility, and business execution to scale partner programs, drive hybrid-cloud adoption, and deliver measurable impact within a fast-paced, startup-style culture backed by a global technology leader.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Execution

  • Direct presales operations for the full HPE Cloud Ops Suite portfolio — VM Essentials, Morpheus Enterprise, and OpsRamp.
  • Translate strategic objectives into channel and enterprise execution plans, including enablement programs, coverage models, and GTM motions.
  • Partner with Sales, Channel, and Product leaders to ensure technical readiness, resource alignment, and consistent field engagement.
  • Monitor regional performance through KPIs such as POC success rate, partner enablement adoption, pipeline growth, quota attainment, and customer satisfaction, ensuring presales directly contributes to business outcomes.
  • Represent the voice of the field in product and go-to-market forums, influencing roadmap direction and enablement investments for both VM Essentials and Morpheus Enterprise.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and architects with expertise in virtualization, automation, and hybrid-cloud orchestration.
  • Define clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement through mentorship and collaboration.
  • Foster a learning-oriented, agile culture that values experimentation, accountability, and partner-centric innovation.
  • Sponsor cross-training initiatives so team members can fluidly operate across VM Essentials, Morpheus Enterprise, and OpsRamp scenarios.

Partner & Customer Engagement

  • Oversee channel-driven enablement and POCs for VM Essentials while ensuring enterprise-level presales excellence for Morpheus Enterprise engagements.
  • Ensure unified technical messaging across distributor, VAR, and enterprise accounts that reinforces Cloud Ops Suite differentiation.
  • Guide the team in helping partners and customers migrate, orchestrate, and automate hybrid workloads using VM Essentials and Morpheus Enterprise.
  • Act as an executive sponsor for key customer and partner opportunities, demonstrating HPE’s commitment to open, integrated hybrid-cloud solutions.

Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with Channel Enablement, Sales Ops, and Product teams to enhance field readiness and scale best practices.
  • Contribute to forecasting, pipeline analysis, and resource planning, aligning presales capacity with business priorities.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing between VM Essentials and Morpheus teams to strengthen hybrid-motion synergy.
  • Support strategic GTM programs and partner co-selling initiatives that tie Cloud Ops Suite value directly to revenue growth.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years in IT infrastructure, cloud, or virtualization technologies; 4+ years in presales or technical leadership.
  • Proven experience leading either channel-focused and enterprise presales teams.
  • Familiarity with HPE’s hybrid-IT portfolio and partner ecosystem; experience with Morpheus and OpsRamp preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% for partner and customer engagements.
