Position Overview:

As a Power Generation Manager, you’ll spend most of your time coordinating your team and setting them up for success! From our Surrey, BC, location

Finning Power Systems performs a vast array of electrical work ranging from large scale shop/field projects and repair to rental generator fleet maintenance. This specialized position directly oversees 16 local employees and provides dispatching/training support for 14 others inside the BC/Yukon Territory.
This role is ideal for someone with an electrical operations, project management or engineering background with power generation experience who is looking to hone their leadership skills in a fast growing market!

For this position, the expected salary range is between $120,000 and $140,000 annually with an attractive annual bonus program and allowances for skill set. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description:

  • Lead and engage the team to promote a strong safety culture including adherence to Electrical Safety Code of Practice and standard operating procedures
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of power generation equipment for prime and standby applications.
  • Supervise repairs of a rental fleet of medium and large generators up to 2000kW.
  • Coordinate projects and ensure exceptional customer communication and satisfaction.
  • Supervise fleet management of 15 vehicles, ensuring compliance with NSC regulations.
  • Evaluate electrical engineering challenges and develop creative solutions.
  • Prioritize and dispatch local workload effectively while providing support to other locations where expertise and availability is required
  • Conduct ongoing performance conversations and annual reviews with team members.
  • Develop electrical crew members across territory through formal training and on site mentoring
  • Monitor KPIs and apply financial acumen to support branch profitability.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Electrician or Electrical Engineering certification is an asset.
  • FSR A-ticket is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of power generation systems and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of National Safety Code and electrical safety standards.
  • Previous management experience in a progressive discipline environment.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar electrical equipment is an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
