Hendrick Technical Solutions is currently seeking a Powder Coating Technician for secondshift to join our team.
Summary: Responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing parts using ceramic and powder coating techniques. Duties include surface preparation, equipment setup and maintenance, coating application, quality control, packaging, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year experience in an industrial painting or coatings environment preferred . Knowledge of electrocoating or similar finishing processes is a plus. Knowledge of wastewater treatment is preferred. Basic understanding of electrical and chemical processes used in e-coating. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Understanding of basic chemistry. This role subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements and as such, U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident or U.S. Person Status Required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Fork Lift certification
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in programming software and basic Microsoft Office applications
Communication Skills:
Ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively with other departments and organizational team members.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed. The position is not remote and must work onsite.
Physical Demands:
Requires vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses. Constantly manually manipulates, lifts/carries 10 pounds or less, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less. Frequently stands, walks, reaches outward, bends, lifts/carries up to 75 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds. Occasionally sits, reaches above shoulder, squats or kneels, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds. Ability to distinguish between color variations to perform titrations.
Environment Demands:
Exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, and moving equipment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment. Comfortable working with chemicals and in a production environment.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Must be able to read blue prints and production orders. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees. Ability to read technical documents, safety data sheets (SDS), and operating procedures.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be able to do basic shop math and measurements using calipers.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
