Basic Purpose of Job
East Tennessee Children’s Hospital (ETCH) offers a 12-month, full-time Pediatric Integrated Behavioral Health Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship is designed to gain expertise treating children and families within a PCBH model of integrated care. This unique postdoctoral fellowship will take place in ETCH’s outpatient primary care clinics. Fellows will have the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team at a primary care clinic and within the larger organization.
The Integrated Care Pediatric Fellowship track prepares psychologists as behavioral health consultants in primary care settings offering brief, solution focused behavioral health care to children and families. Fellows provide brief assessment, consultation, and treatment working alongside primary care providers. Fellows will attend grand rounds offered weekly. Additional opportunities to participate in research and educational outreach will be available based upon individual interest.
Behavioral Health Consultants (BHCs) will operate as a core part of a primary care team in one of our clinics (Knoxville locations and surrounding area) utilizing the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model of care. BHCs will work closely with Primary Care Providers to provide brief focused assessment and intervention on a variety of presenting concerns, effective communication with team members, and efficient documentation. BHCs offer a flexible approach to behavioral health delivery, which increases access to behavioral health services.
