Course: Podcasting
This course covers how to produce podcasts, providing students with the knowledge and skills to create compelling and impactful audio content. Concept development, storytelling, and podcast structures are covered. The course also emphasizes the skills of recording and editing to produce high-quality audio content. Students learn effective strategies for promoting, monetizing, and distributing podcasts to build and maintain an engaged audience. Through hands-on projects, students gain the ability to produce high-quality podcasts across diverse genres.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions while incorporating innovative teaching strategies.
- Engage students in cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
- Assess student performance and mentor classroom success to prepare them for their chosen career path.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
What You Will Bring:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree AND
- 5-10 years of professional experience in podcasting – talent, production and promotion.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Communication or Broadcast Journalism or PhD Communication.
- Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a Master’s degree in any field possessing at least 18 graduate credits in Communications AND
- Writing for Broadcasting experience. Professional or Teaching experience required.
