Planning & Allocation Analyst (6 Month Contract)

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

The Planning & Allocation Analyst partners with the Planning, Merchandise, and DC teams to achieve the overall financial and strategic objectives of the organization. Their core function consists of maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on all business strategies, in partnership with the Senior Analysts and Allocation Manager, highlighting performance drivers and opportunities that will impact top and bottom-line sales.  Along with all allocations, analysis, system maintenance and inventory management for their area of coverage. 

60%: Reporting, Analytics and System Maintenance

  • Data mining and manipulation from Allocation Reporting Systems to analyze store style sales performance based on critical KPI’s.  Providing recommendations in weekly email to business partners on in season adjustments for constraints, configurations, and store profiling for area of responsibility.
  • Forecast analysis in partnership with Planning and Allocation Manager for area of responsibility providing details on anticipated sales and allocation projections. Proactively flagging concerns to Leaders on forward looking forecasts that don’t align to marketing cadence, business objectives and growth strategies. 
  • Providing weekly, monthly, quarterly analysis to Business Partners and Leadership Teams on all corporate growth strategies and initiatives (Product, Store Attributing and Formats, Competition Impact, and New, Renovated, Closing Stores).
  • Supporting market analysis and store profiling through store visits, researching and understanding the competitive landscape, demographic nuances, weather and seasonal anomalies and any other relevant store attributing impacts.


40%: Allocations and Inventory Management

  • Executing all allocation workflows through Inventory Smart for Launch, Backup and New Store for area of responsibility.
  • Life cycle and store attribute constraint management (WOS, Min, Max) in partnership with Planner and Allocation Manager, communication on configuration updates with Category Manager, Planner, and Sr. Analyst. 
  •  Effectively dissect and communicate forecast demand prior to allocation release to understand projected allocation qty’s ensuring alignment with marketing initiatives, inventory plans, store trends, lifecycle, and seasonality of product for all allocation workflows.
  • Actively partner with Planning and Merchandising team to understand business performance, inventory levels (in store and DC) and flow requirements to optimize inventory ensuring sales plan is obtained, WOS is balanced and minimizing stockouts.
  • Actively participate in all allocation meetings with team, business partners and Allocation Manager to understand the goals and corporate initiatives along with sharing data analysis and recommendations.
  • Partnership with Merchandise Associates, DC Partners, Category Managers, Planners, and Sr. Analyst to rectify all inventory concerns and ensure every unit is accounted for and actioned.

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
Must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Minimum 1+ years of Retail Analysis & Allocations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - ability to manipulate large data and develop professional analysis and presentations.
  • Strong analytical skills, experienced in retail math concepts and a solid understanding of retail KPI’s.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with ease and composure while continuing to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to express ideas, problems, recommendations, and solutions with clarity. 
  • Preferred skills and experience:
  • Experienced with Inventory Smart, OMNIA, and Tableau are strong assets.

  • Role is based in our Mississauga location
