The Pilates Trainer creates safe and effective Pilates Reformer training in a private and/or small group setting. Pilates sessions include reformer training and may include tower, barrel, mat, and chair work in the Pilates studio.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must have passed Pilates Reformer training and a minimum 6 months experience.
Must maintain current certification or registration.
CPR certification required within 6 months of hire.
This position requires strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to analyze movements and determine/correct faulty movement patterns.
Must be able to interpret body composition testing in order to make recommendations for improvements.
This position is typically performed in a clean, well lit, and temperature controlled environment. The noise level is typically moderate.
Must be able to stand, walk, and demonstrate exercise throughout the duration of shift. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 100 pounds. The Pilates Trainer frequently helps members with lifting and spotting while demonstrating exercise technics.
The Pilates Trainer frequently communicates with current members, BAC staff, and potential clients.
This position requires strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates exercise programs for a wide range of clientele.
Conducts individual meetings with clients.
Performs movement assessments and reviews health history as a baseline upon which to prescribe exercise.
Critiques and evaluates client's form while providing exercises to improve outcome and minimize the chance of injury.
Handles administrative tasks such as billing, scheduling sessions, reconciling payroll, and responding to emails.
Follows up with clients via phone or email to check progress and provide feedback.
