We’re looking for a highly skilled Picture Editor to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Fashion Styling, you’ll lead all aspects of sourcing distinctive, original, and iconic imagery for use across NET-A-PORTER’s website, social channels, editorial features, and marketing campaigns. Location: Our Westfield office in Shepherd’s Bush

Reporting into: Head of Fashion Styling

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (4 days in office)

Here is a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the Picture team in delivering outstanding imagery that reflects our brand's vision, overseeing all creative research, sourcing, and licensing activity.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the Picture team through regular feedback, performance reviews, and clear growth plans.
  • Partner with Creative, Editorial, and Design teams to interpret briefs and provide strong, inspiring visual research.
  • Build and maintain relationships with photographers, picture libraries, brands, and PR agencies to secure best-in-class content and negotiate competitive usage rights.
  • Oversee image quality, crediting, and copyright compliance across all outputs, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of licensing and usage laws.
  • Manage the picture research budget and archives, ensuring efficient organisation, accurate record-keeping, and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Stay ahead of fashion and cultural trends to inform creative concepts and support brand storytelling across all channels.
  • Continuously refine processes to enhance the quality, efficiency, and impact of all visual deliverables.

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in picture research within a fast-paced e-commerce, fashion, or editorial environment.
  • Strong understanding of women’s fashion history, designers, and current trends.
  • Excellent relationships with image libraries, PRs, and creative contributors.
  • Skilled in budget management, negotiation, and team leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of copyright, licensing, and image usage rights.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient in Photoshop and digital imaging standards.
