As a Physical Therapist Aide, you will support the department by assisting with treatment programs and performing various daily duties. You will work closely with a supervising Physical Therapist to provide direct patient care and help deliver high-quality supportive services to our patients.
A caregiver in this position works 36 hours per week/72 hours per pay period working varying shifts, starting from 8:00am—6:30pm. No weekends. Rotating holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Carry out departmental duties and treatment programs that are delegated for adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients.
Inform the Department Manager or Senior Therapist of any equipment malfunctions or perceived safety hazards.
Clean, maintain and stock supplies.
Maintain a clean gym area and treatment rooms.
Assist with care of patients under the direct supervision and direction of the Physical or Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Inform the therapist of any ill response by the patient and maintain patient confidentiality and modesty at all times.
Assist in directing volunteers.
Transport patients to and from physical and occupational departments.
Ensure safety of self and patient when transporting/transferring patients.
