Position Summary:

The Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Institute of Genomic Medicine at McGill University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to manage and operate a cutting-edge phage display seromics platform. Reportin g to the Associate Director, Genotyping Platform, the PhIP Platform Manager will oversee the design, preparation, and execution of large-scale phage display seromics libraries and experiments, while managing platform operations, projects, and a small team. This role requires strong expertise in molecular biology, proven leadership experience, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external collaborators.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, cloning, and preparation of large-scale phage display seromics libraries, including bacterial transformation, DNA isolation, and sequencing library preparation.
  • Supervise immunoprecipitation and downstream assays required for phage display workflows.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the PhIP-seq platform, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results.
  • Supervise, mentor, and manage the activities of a Research Technician.
  • Oversee project timelines, set priorities, and ensure deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for collaborators and clients, ensuring communication and project management related to the phage display library.
  • Develop and optimize protocols, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and platform performance.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety rules, institutional policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to reports, manuscripts, and grant applications as needed.
