Phlebotomist / Laboratory Support Specialist

Join our collaborative and fast-paced laboratory team! The Phlebotomist /

Laboratory Support Specialist plays an essential role in providing high-quality patient care by ensuring accurate specimen collection, processing, and delivery. Working closely with the Support Services Supervisor, this position helps maintain seamless workflow across multiple lab areas including Outpatient, Family Medicine, and Long-Term Care collections.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures and specimen collections accurately and safely

  • Log, process, and deliver specimens to appropriate departments or reference labs

  • Handle clerical tasks such as charting, filing, faxing results, and answering phones

  • Maintain lab supplies and equipment; perform basic cleaning and maintenance

  • Schedule tests, process manual requisitions, and enter orders accurately in the computer system

  • Ensure compliance with lab safety and quality standards while providing excellent patient service

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

  • Knowledge of human development and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages

  • Proficient in computer use and troubleshooting

  • Ability to walk long distances, push carts, and lift up to one gallon of fluid

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification

  • Coursework in medical terminology

  • Knowledge of hospital and laboratory support functions
