People Services Specialist

The HR Service Specialist serves as a key point of contact within the HR People Service Center, providing timely, accurate, and professional support to employees, managers, and HR partners across a wide range of HR-related inquiries and transactions. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The HR Service Specialist handles tasks related to employee lifecycle events, HR systems navigation, benefits, payroll, and policy information. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The HR Service Specialist will utilize HR systems, particularly Workday, to process and maintain employee data, including keying employee lifecycle changes such as hires, terminations, transfers, and compensation updates. Strong attention to detail and a working knowledge of HRIS platforms are essential to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Job Duties

  • Act as the first point of contact for ACE employees to provide guidance and resolution for questions related to HR policies, benefits, onboarding, and other employee matters using established procedures or by escalating appropriately.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners to support employee transactions and ensure timely processing.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions such as new hires, promotions, terminations, and benefits-related updates.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and company information with discretion.
  • Enter and update employee data in Workday, ensuring accuracy for transactions including hires, transfers, and compensation changes.
  • Manage and maintain employee records using HRIS systems and approved filing methods.
  • Meet quality, productivity, and customer service standards within the HR People Service Center.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and cross-functional partners to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4–6 years of customer service/service industry experience required.
  • Experience using HR systems, with proficiency in Workday preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately process employee data changes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively under close supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other standard business applications.

Scope

  • Performs tasks under close supervision with regular review for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follows clearly defined procedures and detailed instructions to complete assigned work.
  • Resolves straightforward problems using standard practices and guidelines; most tasks are completed within one to two business days.
  • Operates as an individual contributor with responsibilities limited in scope and complexity.
  • Interacts primarily with direct supervisor and team members to exchange information and receive guidance.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$28.19 - $37.55

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
