The People Operations Generalist provides day-to-day support to the People Operations team, helping to ensure smooth people processes and accurate employee data. This role supports a variety of HR functions including Recruiting, HRMS, Benefits, and Employee Relations. Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and internal changes.
Provide light support for HR systems (e.g., troubleshooting, creating job profiles, generating reports).
Assist hiring managers and the recruiting team by processing job requisition requests.
Collaborate with Payroll, People Tech, and other internal teams to ensure alignment and timely execution of tasks.
Document and improve workflows and SOPs.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (EEO, FMLA, ACA, etc.).
Assist in audits and data requests related to HR compliance and reporting.
Understanding of and ability to explain company policies, programs, benefits, and related information.
Responsible for reviewing processes for discrepancies and possible issues.
Support onboarding and orientation logistics, ensuring a smooth experience for new hires.
Provide first level HR Service Desk support for employee inquiries regarding HR and payroll policies, within SLA, or assign to the appropriate 2nd level HR representative.
Process incoming HR and Payroll mail.
Lead unemployment and disability claims processing.
Support 401(k) / PCS programs.
Participate in bi-annual Workday release testing.
Responsible for employee and contractor onboarding and offboarding procedures.
Complete I-9 verifications for new hires in Phoenix, AZ, or Remote.
Initiate and monitor background checks and assist with review.
Serve as back-up for other People Shared Services tasks.
Initiate and lead projects as assigned.
Ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in people operations, administrative support, or generalist roles.
Proficiency in HRMS platforms and Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting tools a plus.
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to recognize and raise any HR related issues proactively and in a timely manner
Ability to analyze HR related data and prepare reports as appropriate
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Workday or similar platform.
Familiarity with project management.
Understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
