People Manager

SUMMARY 

The People Manager will collaborate with all associate levels within the organization to challenge the status quo and bring the associate experience to the next level. With a focus on learning and development, they will partner with and assist the Director of People on all human resource functions, programs, assignments and property activities as deemed necessary. The main focus of the role will be to strategically manage the daily operations of the department with a pro-active approach and gracious attitude. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to: 

  • Make the impossible possible!
  • Think big, solve problems and get to the root of concerns, no matter how complex, be proactive and reactive in creating and implementing solutions. 
  • Implement, coordinate and execute training programs, as well as identify and drive improvements for the training programs and processes.
  • Cultivate and execute people plans for associate recognition programs, employee relations, total rewards benefit programs, performance management and recruitment retention strategies.
  • Manage associate relations documentation and conducts investigations in accordance with Director of People.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • 4-6 years of human resource experience; 3 of which were in an HR leadership role
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have a diverse human resources background with experience including, but not limited to; employee relations, benefits and compensation, training, compliance, and recruitment  
  • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur

PREFERRED 

  • Master’s Degree or SPHR/PHR Certification
  • Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with Workday is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 5 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates; use of these senses will occur on a constant basis.  

The pay range for the People Manager is $64,624/yr. - $72,702/yr. The pay scale is the base salary or hourly wage range, exclusive of incentive pay such as commissions, piece rates, gratuities, and the like, that Pendry reasonably expects to pay for the position.
